Boozhoo Anishinaabedog...
it's so melancholy in here, I think I hear Sinatra...no, I'm joking, I read all of the posts that I was behind on reading this morning...I was glad (not really) to hear that so many of you are overwhelmed with the work and life, just like me. I guess there's nothing as wrong with me as I thought. I also was thinking that I was taught not to talk or let anyone know you are having a hard time, but I think talking about what is hard in our lives makes our lives easier...just to get it out there (and not keep it all in our hearts)...I have always found it easier to express my feeling in writing than in real life with real things like words, everyone here (cohort members) probably know me better than half of my closest friends...I am blessed, and I acknowledge this, and I am thankful for this.
Learning about technology..Wow! So I was thinking about this early on when we started our studies...you have to fight fire with fire, but in this case the firefighting is fun! The fire is technology, and technology is very appealing to the new generations...they love techy stuff, ...so then let's exploit that through gaining real estate in their minds by providing context for their thinking. Let's give them Ojibwemowin through a technology interest entrance and standpoint. Give them techy stuff to engage in and then show them how to create techy stuff for themselves (is there an echo in here (our studies)...us)...I have to just stop a moment and elaborate about one of the wisest things I have heard for a very long time. Nimino Anishinaabe Gakino'amahged, (my good Ojibwemowin teacher) says...
"It's not my job to teach you, it's my job to teach you how to teach yourself."
