Do you suppose you might like to see this work with your eyes, you might like to touch it, to hold it to your cheek or to smell it? This is what frustrates my mind...the best pieces are buried in the collections of the super rich, never to be shared with the world, never mind the people that are still here tyring to remember a way that we can still try to be like. When the traders came, they swindled whole outfits. The best examples that we can hope to look towards for inspiration are located in UK, Italy, Spain and mainly France...the photo of the leggings was hard to find because I do not speak French...I do not know any French people but I get a feeling that they "care" and respect our old art works. I think that if I perhaps use my Ojibwemowin, I could ask them in a good way to let me photograph what is still holding itself together and share it that way, with the world, perhaps a book or a virtual gallery or...miles to go.
